Model DS-10 is designed to remotely operate the Trip and Close buttons on Westinghouse “DS” type breakers. Like our other Chicken Switch products, the DS-10 is very easy to install and use. No modification to the breaker is necessary. It is held in place with strong neodymium magnets and is battery powered, lightweight, and portable.

The DS-10 is constructed with all metal components that are produced using state-of-the-art CNC equipment. It utilizes motor-driven technology to operate the trip and close buttons on the breaker which provides smooth operation and does not “slam” the buttons. Like all of our products, it is microprocessor controlled for all functions and will prevent attempting operation if the battery voltage is low.

The standard DS-10 ships with the Chicken Switch actuator, the hand-held controller, 30-foot cable, carrying case, instruction manual, and 16 AA batteries.

Compatible Breakers

Type DS breakers are a 600-class substation breaker that has been manufactured and sold through Westinghouse and Cutler Hammer since 1969. Additionally, Type DS and DSL breakers are also sold under the SquareD name. The DS-10 works on the following nameplated breakers and frame sizes:

• Westinghouse Types DS, DSL, DSII, and DSLII Breakers – 800 amp through 5000 amp frame sizes
• Eaton/Cutler Hammer Types DS, DSL, DSII, and DSLII Breakers – 800 amp through 5000 amp frame sizes
• Square D Types DS, DSL, DSII, and DSLII Breakers – 800 amp through 5000 amp frame sizes
